Sayyidati, a poem in a café

Amyr Rajab

A film for Amyr Rajab’s poem Sayyidati (My lady), shot in a café full of books: a man reading and writing at a mosaic table with a coffee, the words on screen in Arabic. Released in February 2025.

Smiling over the page

Over the shoulder at the mosaic table

Reading at the table among the shelves

In the mirror by the shelves

Writing a note beside the coffee

Folding the note

Taking a book from the shelf

The café, from across the room

At the bookshelf

Leafing through a book
